42 South

Reflections on water are unique and endlessly fascinating, not least because they’re a product of time, light, season, wind and the photographer’s point of view.

These ephemeral images exist only for the instant the camera shutter is opened. However, the works are not simply the product of figurative images taken of reflections. I spend time watching and waiting as the images form and transform while the water movement and all the other variables interact.

From the resulting images, the editing consists only of cropping to the optimum composition and optimise sharpness, noise and resolution.

All of the 42 South Collection was shot from the wharves and pontoons in the small inner harbour of Hobart.
